TOURNAMENT RULES

NCAA rules with the following exceptions:

  1. No time serving penalties for repeat face-off violations. 
  2. 1 - 90 second time-out per HALF, per team. Each team is granted 2 timeouts per game.
  3. No shot clock.
    1. At any time the referees can impose a stall warning by implementing a 30 second shot clock. 30 seconds will start at the time of the stall warning.

 

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

  • All teams will play 3 games on Saturday against teams in their Tier/pool in a round robin format.
  • Tier 1 is divided into 2 pools of 4 teams each; Tier 2 has just 1 pool of  6 teams.
  • Game Formats:
    • All games will consist of 2 - 22 minute halves, with a 5 minute halftime and 6 minutes in between games.
  • After Saturday’s Pool Play, Tier 1 & Tier 2 teams will be seeded 1-8 & 1-6 respectively.  Tier 1 & Tier 2 teams will compete seperately in single elimination playoff brackets.  Here is Sunday's Playoff Schedule.​

  • Any team that pulls a NO-SHOW on Sunday, will not be asked back to the event in the future.  Results from the 2021 tournament will influence seeding at the 2022 CCLax Battle for the Buoy.

2.  Head to head play

3.  Goals against

4.  Goal differential
